Landmark
Ivan Vazov National Theatre
Bulgaria's national theatre, a red and white building facing the City Garden.
Designed by the Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer and opened in 1906, the theatre faces a fountain and the City Garden, where locals play chess on the benches. It is one of the easiest places in the centre to sit for a while.
